People invade the internet, searching for solutions on how to get rid of sun spots or wrinkles, and how to get smoother skin. That’s OK, but wouldn’t it be better if we wouldn’t have gotten them in the first place?
Exactly: “Prevention”, and that’s literally our name. So how to protect skin from the sun is the number one question we have to address for any skin care program/treatment you might be interested in.

Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen mascara or pills, Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids and even the most renamed organic skin treatments have no use if you don´t control what is damaging your skin first.
According to dermatologists, 90% of all skin damage is caused by the Sun. So once we have sun protection covered, then we can start thinking about other wonderful preventive or curative treatments for your skin, before this, it simply makes no sense.
Is it too Late to Start?
Teenagers rarely worry about their skin, because there is nothing reminding them it will not look that radiant forever. But the general rule is that the sooner you begin protecting your skin, the better and no you are not too late, actually after 40 not using protection is simply not an option, for men and women.

It’s Daily, not just for the Summer!
Culturally we only think in sunscreen in summer days, but UVA and UVB rays are pretty sneaky and even in winter, in cloudy days and yes, near that preferential office window they get through.
The more exposure the more potential damage, so beach or field days should receive special attention. But weirdly enough in most cases is not the summer trip that accumulates the majority of the potential damage, but the unprotected every day. Think about it, you have a bunch of trips a year, but the sun, with its UVs, is there every day.
Learn about SPF (Sun Protection Factor)
It’s common to think that SPF 30 would offer the double of protection than SPF15, but it doesn’t work that way. SPF15 offers around 90% protection and SPF 30 would climb to 95%, being SPF 50 the maximum, with somewhere near 97%.
The American Academy of Dermatology, In general, recommends SPF15 or up, but if possible we recommend SPF30.
Choose Zinc Oxide over the others
Zinc oxide and its cousin titanium dioxide, physically block both types of UV rays for longer periods of time and do not degrade with ease. While it’s counterparts, known as chemical or some time confusingly named as organic ingredients, are absorbed in your skin cells and they do the UV reflection with a chemical reaction from the inside of your skin, degrading more easily.
Look for high concentration zinc oxide sunscreen or find one blended with octinoxate (a chemical ingredient that works very well with zinc oxide).

By wearing sunscreen daily you protect your skin from 90% of the factors that damage it.
Look for an SPF Factor higher than 15 on a cream that is comfy for your skin basically it should not feel greasy after 1 hour of application. Apply just as much as needed.
Choose a comfortable price, so you don´t catch your self “saving” on your applications, although apply as little as necessary to avoid greasy skin after an hour of application.
Use it not only on your face but on any exposed area, like the necks V zone, hands arms and legs if you are wearing shorts or squirt.
